4D Anatomy Viewer features

Install modules

To begin installation press Install 4D Anatomy Viewer menu option. Follow installation guidelines. After installation available modules are ready to install. Press Cancel to exit installation or hit OK to continue. In order to use modules from disk select Fast installation. For recommended installation of all modules select Complete installation. Hit OK.

Select module category

Select drop down list in Navigator panel to browse module categories. Click on icons representing Bones, Dissections and Radiology imaging.

Open modules

Double click on thumbnail in Available Modules panel. Activate module at first time or keep using module for five days without activation. In order to activate module select Activate module and enter your License key. To delete a module select Uninstall module command then hit OK. To view open modules select Navigator panel and click on Open Modules tab.

Image navigation tools

Motion Control by Mouse

Press left mouse button and move mouse sideways or up and down to rotate and tilt image. Press both mouse button at the same time while moving mouse up and down to spin image. Press right mouse button and move mouse up and down to zoom image. Zoom first and press scroll button to pan image. Use scroll wheel to switch layers.

Motion control by keyboard

To activate keyboard functions click on image and turn Numlock on. Use keyboard arrows to rotate and tilt image. Press Ctrl and Up and Down arrows to change layers. Use Numpad plus and minus for zooming slash and star buttons for spinning. Use Numpad arrows for panning image.

Motion control by interface

Select Control tab in Navigator panel. Use slide bar for zooming and spinning. Change numbers in Layer, Row and Column boxes to switch layers or to rotate and tilt image.

Layout settings

Pinning windows

Use Pin tool in the right upper corner of windows to move windows out of sight. Hover over tab to unhide windows. Press Pin to refix window position.

Custom layout

Grab title bar of windows and use blue position indicators for placing windows to create custom layout. Save and Load custom layout or Restore default settings in View menu option.

Window management

Quit tabbed view in Window menu options to arrange and resize multiple image windows.

Selecting structures

Move your mouse and hover over an area to visualize contour, click on contour to select structure or click on item in Structures panel.

Image manipulation tools

Contour and label display

Hover over a structure to visualize contour. Check boxes in Structures panel and check Countours or Labels to display multiple structures. Select All to visualize all contours or labels.

Contour and structure projection, layer blending

Select single or multiple structures. Check Project contour in Control tab in Navigator panel. Switch layers to project contours. Check Blend layer and slide bar to set opacity. Check Project structure command click on projected contour for visual effect.

Click and guide

In order to navigate to any selected structure automatically double click on item in Structures or Syllabus panels, or select item and hit Arrows on the sidebars.


Select structure in thematic view. Click Add comment on sidebar. Edit your comment in Description panel. When finished hit Edit button to quit edit mode and to save comment. Select and pin your comment anywhere on the image by using right mouse shortcut menu. Use “Click and guide” function in Syllabus panel to navigate to comment pin.


Open Quizzes in thematic view and select quiz. Hit start button in Description panel to start session. Answer choice list or find structures and follow instructions. Hit Evaluate to review answers in the evaluation form at the end of the quiz.

Search options and language selection

Enter and filter your search in Structures panel. Pay attention to your language selection. 4D Anatomy database is currently available in Latin and English Latin format.


To activate help features click on What’s this on the upper right corner of software window and move your mouse on the requested area then click again or use View Help features.
